Arbitrator Renée Mayne is an independent, neutral arbitrator and mediator, exclusively for labor and employment arbitration, factfinding, mediation, and labor-management facilitation. As adjunct faculty, Professor Mayne teaches conflict resolution, negotiation, labor relations, employee relations, and human resources. A hearing officer since 1995, Arbitrator Mayne has adjudicated discipline, dismissal, and contract interpretation grievances, and ethics, harassment, and discrimination complaints for:

Police Officers, Firefighters, Public Safety Dispatchers, Park Rangers, University Faculty, Teachers, Librarians, Attorneys, Investigators, Social Workers, Physicians, Nurses, Engineers, Analysts, Technology Professionals, Accountants, Skilled Crafts, Planning and Building Officials, Water and Wastewater Professionals, Transportation and Public Bus Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators, Maintenance Workers, Food Service Workers, and Administrative Professionals.

Prior to establishing her professional neutral practice, Ms. Mayne had 30 years of collective bargaining experience as chief labor negotiator on the management and labor sides of the table. Renée Mayne saw that unresolved conflicts and disputes adversely affected organizations and their employees, and she dedicated a major portion of her career to resolving labor and employment disputes.

Renée Mayne worked as a union advocate from 1986 to 1995, and a management advocate from 1995 to 2016. Ms. Mayne served as the General Manager for a tri-county labor union in California, and in public sector executive leadership positions in California for labor relations, employee relations, and human resources. She resolved grievances, complaints, and labor disputes through negotiation, mediation, factfinding, and formal hearing decisions.

Renée Mayne holds a Master of Arts degree in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and she is a licensed investigator in the state of California. Her undergraduate degree is from the State University of New York, Empire State College, in Business, Management, and Economics, with an emphasis in Labor Relations. Ms. Mayne earned national and state professional certifications as an expert in labor relations, employee relations, and human resources, and professional certificates from Harvard University in Labor Negotiation and Cornell University in Union Administration.
